about

Music Vomit: 2012 is a collection of songs written, recorded and released throughout 2012. The tunes range from original compositions inspired by traditional folk ballads and blues hollers to gospel protest songs and train breakdowns. Also included on the album are the series of recordings called the Talkin' Headline Blues, which are songs composed entirely of unedited headlines from CNN's website.

Track Name: The Talkin’ Headline Blues #61
Well, 24 hours in a day ain't much
And after 60 minutes an hour's used up
The second hand don't take too long
To tick and tock 'til a minute's gone

So you gotta be sure you ain't a-wasting your time
Reading too many headlines
Cause chances are when a new day comes
You'll just be looking at a thousand more new ones

Track Name: Mother Mary
Oh, oh, oh Mother Mary
Oh, oh, oh Mother Mary where are you when I need you?
Where are you tonight?
Oh, oh, oh Mother Mary I have sinned
I have sinned again and again
So, Mother Mary where are you tonight?

Oh, oh, oh Jesus Christ
Oh, oh, oh Jesus Christ please make it all right
Please bring the sun rise
Oh, oh, oh Jesus Christ I done wrong
I done wrong for so long
So, Jesus Christ please make it all right

Cause I ain't a-prayin'
No, I ain't a-prayin' no more
Cause, baby, I know you need more
So, I ain't a-prayin' no more

Pete, Paul, Luke, and John
Pete, Paul, Luke, and John where have you gone?
And where are all the rest who've passed on?
Oh, oh, oh yes it's true I've done worse than you
Worse than you through and through
So, Pete, Paul, Luke, and John where have you gone?

Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost please don't leave me
Please don't go
Oh, oh, oh you three on high I can't get by
Can't get by through all my lies
So, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

Cause I ain't a-prayin'
No, I ain't a-prayin' no more
Cause, baby, I know you need more
So, I ain't a-prayin' no more

Oh, oh, oh Mother Mary
Oh, oh, oh Mother Mary where are you when I need you?
Where are you tonight?
Oh, oh, oh Mother Mary I have sinned
I have sinned again and again
So, Mother Mary where are you tonight?

Track Name: Get Up & Shout
Everybody get up and jump and shout I'm coming to town
Everybody get up and jump and shout I'm coming to town
Everybody get up out of bed
Shake that sleep right out of your head
Everybody get up and jump and shout I'm coming to town

Raise your hands up to the sky that-a-way don't wait
Raise your hands up to the sky that-a-way don't wait
Raise your hands up on high
Move your body from left to right
Raise your hands up to the sky that-a-way don't wait

Now take your hips and do like this, that's it
Now take your hips and do like this, that's it
Take your hips from side to side
Don't be stingy, let them fly wide
Now take your hips and do like this, that's it

Now get low. So low. So low you touch the floor.
Oh Mama please bend your knees
Don't come up until you feel the need
Oh get up, get up, get up, get up, get up
Everybody get up and jump and shout I'm coming to town

Now everybody here say YEAH (YEAH)
Everybody here say OW (OW)
Now I'll say YEAH and you'll say OW
YEAH (OW) YEAH (OW)
Everybody get up and jump and shout
Everybody get up and jump and shout
Everybody get up and jump and shout I'm coming to town
Everybody get up and jump and shout I'm coming to town
