about

Music Vomit: 2011 is a collection of songs written, recorded and released throughout 2011. The tunes range from original compositions inspired by traditional folk ballads and blues hollers to gospel protest songs and train breakdowns. Also included on the album are the series of recordings called the Talkin' Headline Blues, which are songs composed entirely of unedited headlines from CNN's website.

Track Name: Goodbye, Goodbye
I'm getting out of Cairo! Goodbye! Goodbye!
I'm getting out of Cairo! Goodbye Tahrir Square!
I been here once and I been here twice. Goodbye! Goodbye!
The Spring was great but the Fall ain't been nice. Goodbye Tahrir Square!

I'm going away forever. No, I won't go back there.
I'm going away forever. Goodbye Tahrir Square!
Ain't gonna waste my time no more. Sorry. Sorry.
Ain't gonna waste my life no more. Sorry Tahrir Square.

So scaffold up my camel and bristle down his hair.
Slip the reins around his neck, get out of Tahrir Square.
Forget my hat I'm a-leaving fast. Goodbye! Goodbye!
Don't tell my baby, I won't be back. Goodbye Tahrir Square!

I'm getting out of Cairo! Goodbye! Goodbye!
I'm getting out of Cairo! Goodbye Tahrir Square!
I ain't gonna wait for change to come. Goodbye! Goodbye!
I'll find my own salvation. Goodbye Tahrir Square!
